Notes From Owner
I've learned some things about Lingenfelter cars (and Corvettes in general) the last few years that I wish I'd known before buying the car. The upgrade path would have been much smoother with these tips!
Chin spoilers get rock chips. Lots of them. There's really not much you can do about it. So best to buy a chin spoiler that comes a dark color unpainted, so rock chips are much less noticeable. I ended up with the standard Z06 chin spoiler which is easy/cheap to replace.
Magnaflow Magnapak exhaust does not fit on cars with long tube headers out of the box (they have to be modified)
Magnaflow Magnapak exhaust drones like crazy around 1500 RPM. I ended up giving up and installed ZR1 exhaust which has no drone.
Methanol injection is a nice safety net for your engine, for higher power engines it's a must.
The non-Z51 package on an A6 has a really tall gearset. Upgrade those babies immediately for an instant performance boost
Get your car tuned right away - tuning really wakes it up
The non-Z51 handling package sucks. I'd go as far as saying it's dangerous on the freeway at high speeds. I ended up with a full Pfadt suspension kit, but any upgraded shocks and springs will do the trick.
Lowering the rear of a corvette too far activates the active handling feature prematurely. After raising the rear of the car 1/4", the active handling problem went away.
Painting your calipers a dark color. Yellow is hard to maintain :)
LG Motorsport World Challenge Wheels with a Z06 offset will not fix on a standard C6 without rubbing. You must get the C6 offset. But once you do that, there are pretty much no brake kits that will fit under the wheels.
Cobalt GTS brake pads are LOUD. Not just a little squealing. They sound like a dying cat every time you stop the car. I gave up on these pads and went with some Hawk HP+ pads.
